About me

Origins

I was born in Faro, Portugal.

Growing up, I experienced both supportive and challenging environments. During my teenage years, like many others, I navigated uncertainty, protective patterns and ways of coping that, at times, distanced me from myself. It was the same mixture many people experience—periods of ease and enjoyment alongside moments of confusion, difficulty and inner tension.

A Turning Point

In my late teens, I came into contact with Eastern martial arts and later with yoga. This opened a door to something I had been searching for without yet having the language for it.

I became deeply interested in the lives of the great sages of India and in the possibility of greater freedom and liberation.

The Beginning of a Deeper Search

In my early twenties, a series of events led to a significant shift, deepening my inquiry into the purpose of my life. There was a growing need to understand who I was at a deeper level.

I began to travel through Europe and Asia, seeking guidance and support. For several years, I lived mainly in ashrams, monasteries, communities and retreat centers.

During this time, I worked as a cook, which allowed me to sustain myself while continuing this exploration. I remain deeply grateful to the many teachers and environments that have supported and influenced this path.

Deepening Practice and Integration

Over time, as the practice matured, my attention shifted toward more meditative forms of inquiry, as well as toward integrating this understanding into everyday life.

Being a father, a husband and living within the responsibilities and challenges of daily life, has become an essential part of this process. Rather than separating practice from life, this context has deepened my interest in how self-understanding can be lived in a grounded and coherent way across all areas of life.

My training in Essential Psychotherapy in Hennef, Germany, gave me the opportunity to explore how Western therapeutic methods and Eastern contemplative practices can meet and support one another—both in personal development and within a therapeutic context. This continues to inform the way I accompany individuals today.

Closing

At the core of my path is a sustained interest in the exploration of human consciousness and its integration into daily life—toward a reduction of suffering, a greater sense of inner contentment and a more peaceful and grounded way of living. This remains an ongoing process for me—an exploration that continues to unfold rather than something fixed or complete.
